One of our Calvert Sticks family member, Skip James, passed away on February 5th.  

Skip helped Calvert Sticks behind the scenes for the past few years.  He helped maintain the site, build the store, handle registrations and more.  He was a gentle soul and a tremendous help. 

As a way to honor Skip and thank him for his help with our non profit, we are starting the Skip James Scholarship and will sponsor children that are unable to afford the fees to play field hockey.

Calvert Sticks will continue to follow the guidelines of set forth by Governor Larry Hogan, the CDC, and USA Field Hockey:
- Limit training groups size inside the facility.
- Limit attendance to those that can confirm no symptoms of COVID-19 for the past 14 days.
- Parents and spectators are not allowed in the facility, only drop off and pick up.
- Limiting shared equipment to balls and cones, no handling of shared equipment.
- Athletes use own pinnie, stick, gloves, shin guards, corner masks, water bottle, towels and personal hygiene products.
- No high fives or handshakes.
- Participants and staff should notify Calvert Sticks, if they become sick with COVID-19 symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a confirmed or suspected case. Calvert Sticks will advise those who have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home, self-monitor for symptoms, and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop. They will need to have a negative COVID-19 test result sent to Calvert Sticks prior to returning to any events.

Cost is $325.00 for the season, and practice is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Prince Frederick, starting April 5th.  

Each travel team will play in 3 tournament events in May and early June.  

Registration is open until Sunday, April 3rd.  

Registration and fees are non-refundable.
